A message from our Director
November has been a great month for Stepping Stones Care! We have been incredibly busy throughout the business.
In the West Midlands, we have hired two new managers and submitted our Ofsted applications for our two new homes.
In London, we have rounded out our full complement of staff in our London home for the first time since opening and we’ve also identified our second property and are working hard to the deal done.
In the office, we have finalised our Company Purpose, Vision & Values, finalised our 2021 Company Benefits Package, set in motion the development plan for our new company website and launched our new company blog.
The next set of things on our to-do list include; the purchase and renovation of our second London home and third Midlands home, the recruitment of our new Midlands staff teams, our brand new company website, finalisation of our Company Career Pathway and creation of our 2021 Company Roadmap.
Overall, it is exciting times at Stepping Stones Care and we are excited to be able to share all of our news and highlights with you via our new Monthly Newsletter!
Company News
Midlands Region
After months of hard work and planning, our Midlands Region has become a reality.
We have two brand new Children’s Homes that are due to open in Early 2021.
Opal House and Garnett House will set the foundation for our Midlands Region and will become the model that we will be rolling out to our new homes over the coming years.
2021 Company Benefits
We have approved a brand new set of Company Benefits will come into effect for all staff on January 1st 2021. These include Birthday Day Off Paid, an Employee Referral Scheme, extensive CPD and much more
New Hires
London Region
At Sandstone House we have made THREE new hires!
We have welcomed on board two new Senior Residential Support workers and to round out our superstar Romford team, we have a new Residential Support Worker.
We are looking forward to watching all of their careers grow within our London Region.
Midlands Region
Our Brand New Midlands Region has two new managers starting with us in early December.
For Opal House, our new three-bedded home in Birmingham, we have bought in a highly experienced Manager who has spent 10 years in Children’s Residential Care, with 5 of them as a Senior Manager. With an Outstanding OFSTED background and a passion that matches our own, we are very excited to see what the future holds for Opal House.
For Garnet House, our new two-bedded home in Wolverhampton, we have a Manager who has more than a decade of experience in Children’s Care, with the last 2 years spent as a Registered Manager. We are excited to see this manager grow and develop within Stepping Stones.
Christmas 2020
The festive season is far from an easy time for children in care. Whether it brings up bad memories of Christmases past or reinforces that they are not with their own family; for many children, it’s a bittersweet time of year.
At Sandstone House we want to make sure that our children have the best Christmas they possibly can and we plan lots of fun things to do over the Christmas period. From choosing the tree, to helping decorate the home, the young people will be involved in it all.
Then on the day we have a special Christmas Breakfast of waffles or pancakes followed by present opening time. Our children get to choose a present before Christmas and we will surprise them with a few stocking fillers too. Some of our children will be going to see family, for those that are staying with us we will have board games to play and weather permitting, we will try and go for a long walk. after our Christmas dinner it will be film time while eating as many chocolates as we can!

New Company Website
We have put in a ton of work behind the scenes to create a brand new company website. The site will help showcase all the great work we are doing in our homes and help increase our presence within the sector.
Launch Date - end of 2020.
